Good Shepherd Community Church will be a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-generational and family-oriented church inviting people to connect with God and connect with one another in Jesus’ name; to follow Jesus’ example in life and to be His witnesses locally and around the world. It will accomplish its mission by teaching men, women and children from every ethnicity, language and social status that because everyone is born separated from God, the only way to be reconciled to God is by faith alone in Jesus’ virgin birth, His perfect life, His crucifixion and His bodily resurrection. And that the result of this reconciliation is a life of obedience to Jesus’ teachings and commandments empowered by the Holy Spirit thereby fulfilling the Great Commandment (Mt. 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Mt. 28:18-19).
The last thing that Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 before ascending into heaven was that all authority in heaven and on earth was given to Him. Then Jesus told them to go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Jesus had taught His disciples. And we believe that is still the mission of the Church today.
